Kevin Smith Pushes Back 'Clerks III', Moves Up 'Comes the Krampus'

Writer/Director Kevin Smith ( Clerks, Dogma) recently announced on an Ask Me Anything on Reddit that he is delaying the production of "Clerks III" and is instead going to work on a holiday themed horror film called "Comes the Krampus".

For anyone not familiar with Krampus allow me to fill you in. Krampus is a demon like creature from German folklore who is pretty much the Anti-Santa. During the holidays Krampus comes into town and captures naughty children in his sack. He then carries them off to his cave lair where he beats them with sticks and rusty chains. Yes, you read that right. There is a German folktale that tells kids to not be naughty otherwise a demon beast will roll up into town, snatch you up, and then beat you with rusty chains because he's out of WD-40.

Smith wanted to jump on the film since no one has really done a Krampus horror movie yet, but promises that "Clerks III" will still happen as he already has a written script. "Comes the Krampus" will be a low budget film shot in 20 days in April. It has an aimed Christmas release date that will be just in time for children of all ages to be scared shitless of the holidays.
